Revolutionary War
Graves
One of the many activities of the Sons of the
American Revolution is identifying and marking grave sites where Revolutionary
War Patriots are buried. WISSAR has determined that 41 Patriots were buried in Wisconsin, has visited graves sites, photographed markers, and obtained the GPS Coordinates of most of these grave sites. The actual burial locations of three or four Patriots are not known. Grave markers have not been located for them, but documentation has verified they were, in fact, buried in Wisconsin.
Harold
Klubertanz, past president of the Nathaniel Ames Chapter, has been gathering
information, visiting grave sites, and with help from other WISSAR and WSDAR
members, collected photos of the grave markers. Following is a list
of the 41 Patriots buried in Wisconsin. Grave marker photos, directions to
cemeteries, and additional information about their military service have been included
for these Patriots.
Click on the Patriot's name to view additional information about him and a photo
of his grave marker if available.
